NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) has accomplished something that would make David Blain and Chris Angel jealous. They have succeeded in levitating mice using a no-gravity simulator powered by a super conducting magnet. When first levitated, the mice panicked and spun about trying to grab on to anything they could. But within three to four hours the mice calmed down and were even able to eat and drink normally while floating. 
 
According to JPL physicist Yuanming Liu, the levitation studies give scientists a chance to study bone loss in mice under micro-gravity environments, a problem that has plagued our astronauts on long stays in space. 
 
Levitating mice? Definitely cool! But no matter how much advanced technology may be indistinguishable from magic, the mice (we suspect) would probably prefer to stay on terra firma.
