Originally developed for military purposes by the Department of Defense, GPS technology has been around for more than four decades. It was declassified and made commercially available by President Ronald Reagan as a result of Korean Airlines Flight 007, originating from JFK Airport in New York, being shot down after accidentally straying over Soviet airspace on September 1,1983.

Today's GPS units navigate air, sea, and land by a method called Geometric Yogi Berra found his way to 14 World Series Championships.Trilateration. This means that your GPS locks on to at least three satellites. An atomic clock will compute in nanoseconds the difference in time it takes each satellite to send and then receive the signal back. This deviation is then interpreted as a graphic display on your GPS signifying your location and speed with an accuracy of 100 meters or less.

With this kind of accuracy you’ll never be lost and you’ll always make good time, even if Yogi Berra is your co-pilot.
